DXHR Wins 5 Awards at CVA

Deus Ex: Human Revolution represented at the 2012 Canadian Videogame Awards, taking home five awards: Best Console Game, Best Audio, Best Game Design, Best Writing and Best New Character. Jean-François Dugas, Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, François Lepikas and Mary DeMarle attended on behalf of the whole DXHR team and came back from Vancouver with suitcases full of lovely maple leaf trophies.

Eidos Montreal was in excellent company at the event, and we wish to congratulate the other nominees, including Ubisoft, Bioware, EA Canada and THQ as well as the other great winner of the night, Superbrother: Sword & Sworcery by Capy and Jim Guthrie, which also earned five awards. The event really demonstrated all the vitality of the Canadian video game industry!

The nominations have been announced for the ninth edition of Spike TV's Video Game Award, and we have reasons to be proud! Deus Ex: Human Revolution is present in three categories: Best RPG, Best Original Score and Trailer of the Year. We're facing some hardcore competition on all fronts, and it's an honour to be listed alongside titles that are sure to become classics.

Winners in most categories will be selected by the VGA Advisory Council made up of game journalists and industry insiders, but the public will have a voice in two categories, including Trailer of the Year. We know we face some stiff competition, but we hope you'll come out strong and show your support for the Purity First trailer!

The reviews are starting to roll in and the buzz could not be better! OXM calls it an essential purchase, raving that "as DLC episodes go, it's solid gold." CVG.com gave it an 8, commenting that "it's more than a match for the average DLC plotline - more than a match, in fact, for many full-priced solo action releases." Joystiq gets to the heart of the matter by noting that "The Missing Link could be the opportunity to experiment with Deus Ex in way that you couldn't in the main game", while PC Gamer concludes on a high note, giving it a 9: "It's rare for DLC to live up to a great game, rarer still for it to fix that game's biggest flaw."

Fans in Japan, your wait is almost over! Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be released in the Land of the Rising Sun on October 20, 2011. Â, yokatta!

The Japanese edition of the game will be similar to the North American and European standard edition, but will include all the weapons, devices and extra mission from the Tactical and Explosive mission packs (minus the extra credits).

The Japanese edition of Deus Ex: Human Revolution will only be available on PS3 and Xbox 360.

We offered major gaming news outlets a chance to preview The Missing Link, the coming Deus Ex: Human Revolution downloadable content. In this brand new section of the game, after being tortured by Belltower agents and having his augmentations disabled, Adam Jensen must rely solely on his basic capabilities to escape from a freighter, destined for an unknown location. While fighting for his survival on the ship, he uncovers another layer to the conspiracy that he never would have suspected.

The press was impressed. Writing for PC Gamer, Tom Francis said "It already feels fresh, substantial, challenging and fun."
